Pak no country for Christians, reveals report
New Delhi, Jan 16 (IANS) Christians in Pakistan continue to face extreme persecution in every area of their lives, an annual report on the global persecution of Christians has revealed. Ranking Pakistan fifth in the list of 50 countries worldwide where Christians are persecuted for their faith, The World Watch List said that the believers who have converted from Islam face the greatest levels of persecution in Pakistan, but "all Christians are considered second-class citizens in this strongly Islamic" country.

Tough road ahead for Chinese Covid vaccine after fall in efficacy rate
New Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS) Countries around the world are becoming increasingly skeptical of the Chinese Sinovac Biotech Covid-19 vaccine, the efficacy rate of which has reportedly fallen dramatically over the past few days. A latest study in Brazil, a country where the largest trial of the Chinese vaccine is being carried out, has revealed that the efficacy rate of the CoronaVac vaccine is just over 50 per cent, a massive fall from the 78 per cent initially projected.

New Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS) In a move being described as "a new frontier" in persecution of Ahmadi Muslims, Pakistan has demanded that two Ahmadi citizens of the US remove the American Ahmadi community's website, alleging it violates Pakistan's blasphemy and new cybercrime laws. Amjad Mahmood Khan and Harris Zafar, two prominent leaders of the American Ahmadiyya Muslim community, have been told by the Pakistani authorities that failure to remove the website TrueIslam.com would result in fines of up to $3.14 million or criminal sanctions, including possible 10-year-prison sentences.
