Bengaluru, Feb 24 (IANS) A kite making enthusiast in the city on Monday flew a 15-feet-long kite in honour of visiting US President Donald Trump, bearing his and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's image, also with an intention to popularise kite flying.
"I welcome Donald Trump to India with my kite bearing his image and Modi's. Not only welcoming Trump, I also want to popularise kite flying hobby among children," told V. Krishnaji Rao to IANS.
Kite flying is a beautiful hobby but nowadays most children are not interested in this hobby, he said.
Rao, 61, from RT Nagar in Bengaluru is also a photographer who makes kites in myriad shapes such as a dragon and as expensive as Rs 1.5 lakh.
"The kite costing Rs 1.5 lakh is made with parachute material," he said.
Earlier, he made a kite honouring former South Africa President Nelson Mandela.
Rao has been making kites and popularizing the hobby since 1988. Eom/154 words
