4/1/1933	Indian Air Force was established at Drigh Road in Karachi (now in Pakistan). Subroto Mukherjee and four other officers were inducted as pilots when the first Indian Air Force Squadron was formed. The first aircraft flight joined the Indian Air Force, at that time it possessed a strength of six RAF-trained officers and 19 Havai Sepoys (literally, air soldiers); its aircraft inventory comprised four Westland Wapiti II. A army co-operation biplaned at Drigh Road as the ""A"" Flight nucleus of the planned No.1 (Army Co-operation) Squadron.

11/23/1926	Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose, Indian plant physiologist and physicist, passed away. He investigated the properties of very short radio waves, wireless telegraphy and radiation-induced fatigue in inorganic materials. His physiological work involved comparative measurements of the responses of plants exposed to stress. His invention of highly sensitive instruments for the detection of minute responses by living organisms to external stimuli enabled him to anticipate the parallelism between animal and plant tissues noted by later bio-physicists.á

3/25/1954	The first helicopter S-55 arrived ferried to Delhi. The Indian Air Force experience with rotary wing aircraft. It was indeed a 'red letter day' in the history of IAF a befitting gift on its coming of age ' when the first helicopter wearing IAF markings appeared at Palam in the form of a Sikorsky, S-55. Such a swift action, complete involvement and dedication on the part of the crew and technicians was the clear indication of the standards with which One-O-Four set about its tasks for others to emulate.
